An unlikely love story is told in this film directed by Victor Saville. During World War I, Madeline Goddard (Vivien Leigh) is a young woman who owns a dress shop in neutral Sweden. A native of France, Goddard is drawn to help with the war efforts of her homeland, so she volunteers as an intelligence agent. After all, who would expect a smuggling operation based around dresses? Unfortunately, Goddard’s work becomes such a success that it attracts the attention of a German spy (Conrad Veidt), tasked to eliminate the opposition! See what happens next in Dark Journey. (BW)
