Too Late for Tears (1949)

Lizabeth Scott, Don DeFore
Byron Haskin
Drama, Film Noir
Lizabeth Scott turned in what many consider her finest role in this shocking noir about a woman who finds herself in possession of stolen money. When a dangerous character named Danny Fuller (Dan Duryea) tracks her down and claims the money is his, she’s determined to hang onto her stash. Director Byron Haskin (I Walk Alone) brings together a fine cast that includes Don Defore and Arthur Kennedy, plus cinematography by two-time Oscar winner William C. Mellor (A Place in the Sun). If you’ve never seen this noir gem, you’re in for a hardboiled treat! (BW)
