A NEW WESTERN STAR BLAZES HIS WAY ACROSS THE SCREEN! That is what the tagline of this 1938 Western film boasted as Roy Rogers made his first starring role in what would become a long, legendary career on film and television. In this film, directed by Joseph Kane, Roy is elected to Congress with the hope that he may bring water to the ranchers during the miserable Dust Bowl of the 1930s. When he isn’t able to convince a fellow congressman that his people need help, Roy puts the congressman in the shoes of those without water. (BW)
